ATTENTION STUDENTS!!!
You are required to bring your computer (fully charged) to class every day. Loaner computers are not available. Forgetting your computer, when an assignment is due, will negatively affect your grade. If you forget to bring your computer to class, you will not get extra time to complete your assignments .
Aim HigherThis syllabus is subject to change. One of the most numerous and important questions a teacher gets from students is "How can I get a higher grade?" The key to achievement isn't a secret. The most important element to doing well in Pat's classes is communication. If you do not understand something, see him. Ask for help. Do not wait until it's too late. Pat is available to help you before school from 8:00 - 8:30 and during lunch (by appointment).
The best way to contact him is by email: [email protected].

Make-up - Students who are absent (sick, pre-arranged absences - not suspensions) are expected to make-up their missed assignments and tests within 2 school days of the student’s return. Students are encouraged to communicate with the teacher through email. Each student is provided a Gmail account for this purpose. Class time will not be used to complete make-up work or answer questions concerning make-up assignments. Students should see the teacher before/after class or school for assistance. They should also check their Google classroom daily. If you submit make-up work, it's your responsibility to notify your teacher so that he may grade it. If you forget to do this, your make-up assignments may not be graded. Suspension - Maintaining attendance through proper behavior is essential for educational growth and success. Students who are suspended from school (home suspension or in-school) are required to complete class assignments just as if they were in the classroom. Information for daily assignments is available on Google Classroom. Students will not receive extra days to complete assignments due to suspensions. The day the student returns, they must submit all missing work and notify the teacher. Remember, it is the student’s responsibility to keep up with the missing work, lectures, and information that is presented during the student’s suspension. Cheating - Students’ work must be original, and those who cheat will receive a zero for the assignment and will not be allowed make-up credit. The teacher will also make parental contact. Cheating will result in a class suspension and a disciplinary referral. Unless otherwise stated by the teacher, students should assume all of their work is to be done individually. The school’s Honor Code Policy will be strictly enforced at all times. If you have questions, refer to the RHS student handbook. Tardy Policy - The school’s tardy policy will be strictly enforced. All students must be in their assigned seats and ready to learn when the bell rings. Failure to do so will result in a tardy. For additional information about RHS’s tardy policy, refer to the student handbook. (Remember, you have a limited amount of time between classes.) Behavioral Issues - Students must follow the teacher’s directions at all times. Disruptive behavior may result in a loss of credit and/or class suspension. If this happens, make-up credit will not be issued. A loss of credit during a major exam can adversely affect a student’s quarter or semester grade and even graduation eligibility. Deadlines - There will be numerous assignments and several projects assigned each quarter. A reasonable deadline will be given for completion of a student’s work and must be met to receive full credit. In certain cases, the teacher reserves the right to extend a deadline - on an individual basis. As a rule, the teacher does not accept late assignments.
